About Us

HISTORY

Competition Touch football in Jamberoo first came to be in December 1984 when the Jamberoo football club got together to organise a social touch football competition as an additional fundraising activity. Prior to this, the football club had already run a number of annual touch football knockout competition in February of each year.

There were only 6 teams in the first competition in April 1985, but this set a solid foundation to where we are today, with the Summer competition attracting approxmately 50 teams and more than 500 players to participate each week.

The goal of our Association is to foster a fun, social touch football competition which caters for players with a diversity of ages and levels of skill. Accordingly, 2014 marks a significant milestone, being the 30th year of competition!  To commemorate this special occasion, a function is being planned to mark the event!

WEEKLY COMPETITION

Jamberro Touch is a social, seven-a-side, mixed competition, generally played with 4 males and 3 females on the field at all times. Games are played all year round – the Summer competition traditionally runs from October to March and the Winter competition from May to August.

Games are played from Kevin Walsh Oval, which is marked up into four grounds. In the Summer competition, with the benefit of additional daylight hours, up to three fields are availble for games on the Keith Irvine (cricket) Oval to the North of the main grounds. Games are played over four time slots at 6pm, 6:35pm, 7:10pm and 7:45pm.
